My First Ride Here

Today was the first time I rode Sierra since moving up to Montana. She was such a BUTT HEAD at first..... !!! The problem is that I had her at my neighbors house for a couple of nights and she has other horses so Sierra got a little attached to them. So when I moved her over here to my barn today, she was pitching such a fit! She's going to have to get used to being alone here, until I can make her turnout bigger and get another horse over here to keep her company. So when I took her out to be saddled up, she hardly stood still, fidgiting and tossing her head and pawing.... I was even having second thoughts about riding her because she was so OBVIOUSLY unhappy. Well, I just did what I had to do and got her saddled up, got on her and rode her for about 2 1/2 hours. After the first 15 minutes or so, she settled right in and was back to being her wonderful self. Now that I have her back in her pen, she's pacing around quite a bit, looking for the other horses and nibbling on her dinner. She's not whinnieing like she was earlier so I think she'll be ok by morning. If she continues to be a total pain, I'll just take her back to my neighbors house and keep her there. I really hope she settles down though, I really can't afford to pay to board her someplace.

I talked with my hubby today also, he made me feel much better when he asked me to not find a job, he wants me to come back home and doesn't want me to be tied down to a job up here and then have to quit. So, I'm just on vacation for now and taking care of some business that we have going on up here. I won't go home until I feel like I should though, I'll probably be here for a few weeks. Hopefully when I decide to go home, the weather won't be too bad and I'll be able to trailer my horse back to CA. If not, I'll just have to wait it out until I can go back. I'm just taking things one day at a time..... More to come later :)
